Brakwater originated on a Sunday in September when three friends, still half hungover from the hot summer of 2022, decided to get together and let loose on their instruments until some meaningful sound emerged. With their rough garage punk, they deliver a live show that will leave a lasting impression on every viewer. The band consists of Arthur Block, a musically talented drummer who resembles a young, wild Dave Grohl; Emily Russel, a no-nonsense bass player who adds a healthy dose of riot girl spirit; and Lander Kersbergen, an ADHD enthusiast who bounds around the stage like a Duracell rabbit, screaming into his microphone until he's almost ready to drop.
This energetic band from Dole started as a trio composed of Sarah as a singer, Thomas as a guitarist and beatboxer, and Cléo as a bass player. They were later joined by drummer Adélie and named their band Soundcellar. Embracing rock and soul influences, their music delivers a powerful dynamic and dreamy vibes.
Aleksandra Kirovska, a musical prodigy from a young age, excels in classical and electric guitar. She won accolades and competitions, performed internationally, and attended masterclasses. She is currently completing her studies in classical guitar at the Faculty of Musical Arts. In 2023, she toured with renowned pianist Lola Astanova.
Defusion, a cross-genre band from Bodø, has quickly gained recognition in their hometown, performing at numerous concerts, including the Frost Festival. They secured victory in this year's 'Rock against drugs' competition, with the jury's praise: 'Comprising a group of highly skilled individualists, this year's winners distinguished themselves with a unique signature and the ability to take both their song material and the audience on an exciting, surprising journey.' Their debut single, 'One Way Window,' explores the desire to break free from constraints, the burden of overthinking, and how it colors our view of the world.
Xion is a thrash metal band that draws inspiration from bands like Megadeth, Slayer, Led Zeppelin, and Judas Priest. Their concerts have been described as well-rehearsed, full of energy, and captivating. They have received a 9/10 review from Sweden Rock Magazine. This young thrash metal band from Dalarna, Sweden, was formed in 2018 with three members and later expanded to five members, all born between 2001 and 2005.
Ukama is a Zimbabwean Afro-traditional band that was formed last year at Churchill Boys High School. The songs are mostly in the vernacular language (Shona) and primarily address cultural norms and values. Their goal is to provide entertainment for both adults and children while promoting culture through music, serving as a voice to the world.
